Actress Anne Curtis was stung by a jellyfish on Wednesday night during the shooting for a TV series in which she was playing the legendary mermaid Dyesebel.
According to ABS-CBN’s Advertising and Promotions head Eric John Salut, Curtis was taken to hospitals in San Juan and Lipa towns in Batangas.
In an update on Twitter on Thursday, the 29-year-old actress said she was at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig City where doctors are monitoring her rash and heart rhythm.
“Currently in St. Luke’s so they can monitor my jellyfish sting/rash and most importantly the rhythm of my heart . . . ” Curtis’ Twitter post read.
“Been reading up on the box jellyfish and I’m lucky it wasn’t fatal. This summer, be careful when swimming in the ocean and keep an eye out,” she wrote in another post.
Curtis thanked Twitter fans for their concern. “I can now sincerely say, lahat ng puyat, pawis, dugo at jellyfish bites makes it all worth it, dahil sa supporta ng binibigay nyo sa Dyesebel,” she tweeted.
Curtis stars in the latest remake of Dyesebel.
Salut said Curtis has “super rashes all over her body and in pain.”
