While FHM’s Sexiest Jennylyn Mercado and former beau and top actor Dennis Trillo continue to dodge questions on whether they are indeed a couple again, all they are willing to talk about is how smooth sailing their working relationship is on the set these days of the much awaited GMA Network drama My Faithful Husband.
It will be recalled that Jennylyn and Dennis had a controversial breakup some years back, which pinned a very ungentlemanly and seemingly unlikely image on the latter. Nowadays, with maturity—both in their personal and professional lives—apparently, Jennylyn and Dennis have wisely decided to talk less about love lives and focus on their biggest project on TV to date.
“What if the wife is the one who becomes unfaithful?” is the intriguing premise of GMA Network’s newest primetime offering My Faithful Husband as it tackles the infidelity of a woman and how the faithful husband who will face his life’s biggest challenge. The controversial drama premieres on GMA Telebabad tomorrow, August 10 right after Beautiful Strangers.
More than just another series that highlights infidelity or unfaithfulness in relationships, My Faithful Husband also probes into the far-reaching consequences when a man and his woman deviate from what is expected from them as husband and wife. It is also a story that will challenge all double standards and undermine all biases – like how infidelity is tolerable for a man to commit and abominable for a woman to succumb to and like how home keeping is honorable for a woman but ignoble for a man.
My Faithful Husband will showcase the undeniable chemistry of the two award-winning artists in Jennylyn as Melanie “Mel” Fernandez-dela Paz and drama king Dennis Trillo as Emman dela Paz.
Emman is a devoted and doting husband to Mel and father to their children. He is willing to do anything for his family. Meanwhile, Mel is a beautiful, spirited, and ambitious woman. She is married to Emman but after seeing her former boyfriend again, she is suddenly confused with feelings. Eventually, Emman discovers that the love of his life has betrayed him, and he is faced with the decision to leave her or make her fall in love with him all over again.
Directed by Bb. Joyce Bernal, the drama series also stars Mikael Daez as Dean; veteran actors Snooky Serna as Mercedes; Ricky Davao as Arnaldo; Nonie Buencamino as Lorenz; Lloyd Samartino as Artemio; Timmy Cruz as Elvie and Rio Locsin as Carmen with Louise delos Reyes as Mylene; Kevin Santos as Dodong; Jade Lopez as Doyee; Jerald Napoles as Mars; Julia Lee as Adelle; Jazz Ocampo as Carla; Aaron Yanga as Dante; Rexcy Evert as Soling.
“Ang importante, maayos ang trabaho naming dalawa ni Jennylyn sa set,” Dennis said at the soap’s grand press launch. “Kung ano man ang meron sa amin, siguro makikita nalang nila yon.”
“Ang maganda, komportable kaming magka-trabaho ngayon, at siguro mas maganda yung ibang bagay, sa amin nalang,” echoed Jennylyn.
