Actress-singer Jolina Magdangal was injured and rushed to the hospital when the vehicle she was riding along with her husband and three-year-old son was bumped by a van early Monday, police said.
Jolina suffered cuts and bruises as well as a bump on the head. Her husband, Rivermaya vocalist Mark Escueta, and son Pele were unhurt.
The couple’s driver, Orly Sebolino, said they were on their way to the airport at around 1 a.m. and were traversing East Avenue in Quezon City when the accident occurred. The Escueta family was scheduled to fly to Hong Kong for a vacation.
Sebolino stopped at a red light but a white Nissan Urvan hit them from behind. Because of the impact, the windshield of the couple broke.
A passenger of the passenger van, Miriam Bondoc, said their driver, Peter Sevilla, may have dozed on the wheel.
Sevilla complained of numb legs and was also taken to the hospital after being trapped inside the vehicle. His passengers, including a baby, were not hurt.
Magdangal’s manager Perry Lansingan said Jolina was given clearance to travel. He quickly forwarded a message from the actress-singer that said, “Hi everyone! Thank you sa prayers at sa lahat ng nag text sa amin.
Ok na kami. Pele is perfectly fine.
