Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founding chairman Jose Maria “Joma” Sison on Monday dismissed statements that he may lose his asylum status once the CPP and its armed wing, the New People’s Army (NPA), are declared terrorist groups.

Sison responded to the statements of analyst Ramon Casiple and Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano last week that the exiled communist leader’s asylum status in The Netherlands will be lifted once a regional trial court officially tagged the CPP-NPA as terrorist organizations.
