• Jonson emerges as 3-point King, Noah rules slam dunk in NCAA All-Stars

TRAVIS Jonson of College of Saint Benilde Blazers emerged as the three-point shootout champion while Arnauld Noah of San Beda College Red Lions ruled the slam dunk competition of the first National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) All-Stars Game at the San Juan Arena in San Juan City on Saturday.

The Fremont, California native Jonson finished with 20 points to beat Philip Paniamogan of Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers in the three-point shooting contest. Paniamogan lost after scoring a mere 12 points in the deciding frame.

Noah, on the other hand, earned a total of 51 points in two attempts in the finals to best Jaymar Perez of San Sebastian College Stags in the slam dunk competition. Perez posted only 31 points after scoring 15 points in the first and 16 in the second try.

NCAA Management Committee Chairman Paul Supan of host Jose Rizal University said that part of the proceeds of the event will be donated to orphans under the care of Hospicio de San Jose.

The East All-Stars were still playing against the West All-Stars at press time.
