Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno who ranked 13th in the latest Pulse Asia Survey, said he is thankful for the trust the Filipinos gave him despite the fact that he is a lightweight compared to the other senatorial candidates.
“Malaking karangalan po sa isang katulad ko na hindi galing sa isang sikat o kilalang pamilya na mapasama sa tinatawag nilang winning circle pero malayo pa po ang byahe at kahit masikip ang daan, ako ay patuloy na naniniwala na darating ang panahon na mabibigyan din ng pagkakataon ang mga katulad ko na makapag lingkod sa ating bayan (This is a big honor for one who is not popular or does not come from a known family to be included in the so-called winning circle. But the journey has just started and I believe that someone like me will also be given the chance to serve),” the vice mayor said.
Moreno, the National President of the Vice Mayors League of the Philippines, said that he is still learning the ropes and adjusting to the rigors of a national campaign. He added that he is humbled by the support and warm reception he has been getting in almost all provinces that he has visited.
The Vice Mayor said he would have placed higher in the survey if only the people were familiar with his real surname, Domagoso.
“I was actually warned that my awareness rating would go down once they use Domagoso in the survey questions instead of the usual Isko Moreno but fortunately, while it went down from 94 percent to 80 percent, my satisfaction rating however went up to 30.4 percent, enough to place me at no.13,” he noted.
Moreno said he will have to work even harder in the next few months.
