A REGIONAL trial court judge survived a second ambush attempt on his life this month in Cagayan de Oro City.
Initial reports reaching the PNP National Police Operation Center in Camp Crame said that the attack against Judge Emmanuel Pasal occurred early morning on Thursday while on his way to Malaybalay City, Bukidnon to attend the hearings.
It said that Pasal, with his driver and two police escorts – Police Officers 1 Ritchie Labiano and Jude Lyndon Mercado – were travelling along Carmen Hill in Barangay Puerto when unidentified armed men hurled an explosive at their vehicle and subsequently fired at them.
No one was reportedly wounded.
Witnesses told police that at least four men were waiting in the area before the attack.
Last month, Pasal also survived an attack by unidentified suspects in Barangay Gusa also in Cagayan De Oro City.
