Julia Louise Buencamino was just at the cusp of a budding career as an actress when she passed away at 15 years old on Tuesday.

Daughter of theater and TV stalwarts Nonie and Shamaine Buencamino, Julia is the fourth member of the family who went into acting after her parents and elder sister Delphine. She has two more siblings, brothers Gorio and Jose.

IMDB records that Julia’s first project was Sandalang Bahay, which she did when she was only 10. It was an independent film that competed for the Cinema One Originals Film Festival. The following year, she then acted for another movie, Inang Yaya that starred veteran actress Maricel Soriano in the lead role.

Her most recent project was for TV through the youth-oriented drama Oh My G!, which tackles God’s relationship with teenagers amid the age of modern technology.

Julia will be remembered by viewers of the afternoon series in ABS-CBN as “Bestie.” She portrays the role Aimee Chua, the female best friend of lead star Janella Salvador (Sophie Cepeda).

With such talent running in her blood, it is but natural that both the entertainment and performing arts industry mourn the loss of the young lady who could have been an exceptional actor.
