• June exports down 11.4%


    Philippine exports in June declined 11.4 percent to $4.75 billion, from $5.36 billion a year ago. Exports in the previous 14 months have consistently dropped from their year-ago levels. With the June decline, the total exports in the first half of 2016 was down 7.5 percent at $26.83 billion compared with $29 billion in the corresponding period of 2015.

    Data the Philippine Statistics Authority released on Wednesday showed that some of the mining products suffered the sharpest fall—41.1 percent.
