The Philippine Under-13 National Football Team lost 0-7, against Uzbekistan’s Bunyodkor FC, in their first game in the SuperMokh Cup 2015 at the KLFA Academy in Taman Melati in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Monday.
The team, playing under the banner of United Football League club Global FC, will compete in the U13 category of the tournament that started on Monday and will end on December 13.
The Little Azkals have been drawn in Group C of the competition together with Rayo Vallecano FC of Spain, Suwon Samsung Bluewings of South Korea, and Bunyudkor.
A total of 20 international teams from all over the world will compete for the crown of the second edition of the tournament named after Malaysian Football legend Mokhtar Dahar. The meet is being hosted by the National Football Development Program of Malaysia and sanctioned by the Asian Football Confederation.
Popular teams among them English Premier League club Manchester City FC will be playing in Group A with Japan’s Kashiwa Reysol FC, South Korea’s Geoje Dongbu Midschool and Malaysia Panthers.
In group B, Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb FC are drawn with Sephan FC of Iran, Chonburi FC of Thailand and the Malaysia Tigers while Thai top tier club Buriram United FC , Gamba Osaka of Japan, Korea’s Pohang Steelers and Bangladesh make up Group D.
In Group E, the competitors are Brazil’s Corinthians FC, Japanese club Yokohama FC, Thailand side PSW Futera and the Malaysia Cougars.
The Philippines will be playing three games in the elimination round of the competition against Bunyodkor, Rayo Vallecano and Suwon before earning a berth in the Cup or Plate quarterfinals on December 10.
