More than a decade ago, GMA did not like any Judicial and Bar Council nominee for Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeals for having perceived links to the opposition. She asked the JBC for a new list. Quite incredibly, the JBC meekly complied, and not for the last time, either.

It could have asked GMA who it was she wanted to save time and effort.
