SEN. Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito lost a chance to patch things up with his brother when he was prevented from seeing Sen. Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame on Wednesday.
The senator was also stopped from visiting another colleague, Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. who, like Estrada, is detained in Camp Crame in Quezon City for plunder.
“We asked the Philippine National Police that we be allowed to visit Jinggoy and Revilla but they were very strict,” Ejercito told reporters in an interview in Camp Crame.
“Next week sana makadalaw na ako kay Senator Jinggoy pag medyo di na mainit at mahigpit ang sitwasyon [I hope next week I will be able to see Senator Jinggoy when the situation normalizes],” he said.
The PNP said visiting hours for the two senators and Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile are from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. from Tuesday to Friday in accordance with rules of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
Ejercito was allowed to see Enrile at the PNP General Hospital.
He said his colleague is being treated very well.
Enrile was to undergo a 2-D echo test on Tuesday night but it was postponed because his
blood pressure shot up to 200/90.
He had several visitors on Wednesday, among them Cagayan Gov. Alvaro Antonio and Enrile’s congressman-son Jackie, who left for the United States last night.
