Kalinga police burn P3.7 million Worth of ‘grass’


CAMP DANGWA, LA TRINIDAD, Benguet: The Cordillera’s campaign against illegal drugs resulted in the destruction of more than P3.7 million worth of marijuana plants in the province of Kalinga over the week. Three marijuana plantation sites with a land area of 1,405 square meters were wiped out by the joint operatives of Kalinga Police Provincial Office, Regional Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Group, Regional Public Safety Battalion and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in sitio Balay, Tulgao West, Tinglayan, Kalinga on Wednesday. Benguet Provincial Police Director, Senior Supt. Victor Wanchakan said that “during the operation, a total of 13,775 fully grown marijuana plants with a Dangerous Drug Board value of P2.755 million were uprooted.”
