The public has witnessed Kathryn Bernardo’s journey from a Goin’ Bulilit lass to become one of the most popular young actresses today. She has shown her acting chops a string of successful TV projects as Mara Clara, Princess and I, and Got To Believe, where her fan base of children, grownups and seniors fell more and more in love with the sweet and humble celebrity.

Kathryn started in showbiz at the young age of seven and is about to mark a milestone in her life as she celebrates her 18th birthday on March 26.

“I’m just very happy and grateful sa lahat ng blessings na naibigay sa akin these past years,” the Filipina beauty said at a press huddle this week.

Ever simple, Kathryn revealed that she had no plans of having a traditional coming of age party, but that her family and close friends coaxed and helped her to mount a grand birthday celebration that befits her achievements as a young lady.

Dubbed as the “Teen Queen,” the ABS-CBN star will have her debut celebration on March 29 at The Blue Leaf Filipinas with its lush gardens and modern-Filipino architecture.

Kathryn said she is very involved in every detail of her debut, making sure she gives the most important people in her life their moment in the celebration.

“Lahat may personal touch ko po,” she explained. “I chose a modern vintage theme with a twist, with the colors of black, white and pink. Hiniling ko po sa guests to come in formal black and white attire.”

Kathryn will wear two gowns for the occasion from popular designers Francis Libiran and Vania Ramoff.

“Kathryn’s gown by Francis Libiran is a combination of classic, modern and timeless; while the second gown from Vania Ramoff is daring and easy but youthful. Both gowns fit her image and status as a Teen Queen,” shared Kathryn’s stylists Em Millan and Rain Dagala.

The highlights of the celebration are the traditional “18 Roses” and “18 Candles,” which will gather most of her friends in the business.

For the “18 Roses,” she will dance with her father Teodoro and brother Kevin; director Lino Cayetano; and previous co-actors Neil Coleta, Robi Domingo, Dominique Roque, Khalil Ramos, John Manalo, Enrique Gil, Jhong Hilario, Steven Fermo, Joshua Dionisio, John Valle, Mike Bawa, Marco Alcantara, Dominic Ochoa, and Ian Veneracion. Her 18th and final dance will be with her escort and suitor Daniel Padilla.

Meanwhile, the participants for the “18 Candles” will include Mariko Domingo, Roselle Delgado, Viel Joven, Kristina San Diego, Shaira Ang, Bird Pingoy, Lulu Romero, Cris Navarro, Danilyn Nunga, Gail Angco, Nina Ferrer, Jane Santelices, Rhoda Navallo, Chrysler Alcantara, Kaye Bernardo, Blessie Alejandro, Marissa Yogore, Ara Vidanes, Aria Clemente, Denise Ochoa, Manilyn Reynes, Miles Ocampo, Julia Montes, director Cathy Garcia-Molina, Gretchen Barretto and Kris Aquino.
