FILIPINOS are fortunate to have a tropical and mountainous country that choices abound for those who look for vacation properties. Whether one looks for a weekend abode, a vacation spot away from the hustle and bustle of city life, or for a serene place to retire to, there is always a nice place to come home to.
Luckily for city dwellers, it doesn’t have to be so far from their place of business or work as to ride a plane or a ship. Just a couple of hours of leisurely road trip from Metro Manila through scenic Tagaytay or the Cavite Expressway down south of the metropolis is a haven of exclusive serenity called Kawayan Cove, nestled along the shorelines of Nasugbu in the province of Batangas.
Kawayan Cove is a private residential community, where homeowners are afforded a privileged lifestyle and a relaxing retreat.
One of the main attractions of this 68-hectare property is the Bamboo Beach, a 650-meter crescent of white sand and sparkling blue water, considered the best swimming beach in Nasugbu, Batangas.
This province of hospitable folks with crisp Tagalog accent peppered with the interjection “Ala eh” is blessed with a lengthy coastline and beachfronts comparable in beauty with that of other popular beach spots in the country.
But Kawayan Cove has an air of exclusivity that makes it stand out from the rest.
“Unlike our neighboring residential communities that are highly dense, Kawayan Cove places a premium on privacy because all members of its exclusive club, the Bamboo Beach Club, must own a property in the community,” says Jose Razon Puyat III, CEO of Kawayan Cove developer Edge Properties Development Corporation (EPDC).
The EPDC CEO says only less than half, or 30 hectares, of the 68-hectare property is allotted for its prime residential lots.
“Everything else is open space,” he points out. “Lot sizes are from 500 up to 1,500 square meters. The development is characterized by generous open spaces seen on its wide roads, islands, and residential lots.”
Central to the concept of Kawayan Cove is the conservation of the natural environment. Approximately 350 prime view lots offer an impressive panorama of the Southern Batangas coastline.
Anyone entering the seaside residential community is right away greeted by a dramatic view of the place’s seascape and landscape and goes on to marvel at the sight along Kawayan Cove’s winding, tree-lined main spine road that hugs the rolling terrain.
The lot sizes are generous and positioned in six general view categories, mostly with cliff and coastline view, with common access to a beautiful crescent-shaped white-sand beach. Most of the forest covers were left untouched.
EPDC gathered top industry players to put Kawayan Cove together: Leandro V. Locsin Partners for architecture; EGD Lopez & Partners for master-planning; PDAA Design International/Ponce Veridiano, for landscape design; TCGI Engineers for engineering; and DCCD Engineering Corporation for construction management.
