Kaya FC routed Green Arch- ers United FC, 6-0, to revitalize its bid to claim the second spot in the 2016 United Football League on Wednesday at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila.
Kaya, now No.5, improved its record to 11 wins, a draw and five losses for 34 points while the Green Archers have six victories, nine losses and a draw.
Philippine National Football Team standout Junior Muñoz scored the first goal for Kaya in the sixth minute followed by the goal of Jovin Bedic in the 11th.
Three more goals were added to Kaya’s tally before the break as Julian Matthews, Eric Giganto and Robert Lopez Mendy found the back of the net in the 16th, 20th, and 38th minutes, respectively.
High-scoring striker Lopez Mendy notched the final goal by blasting through the guard of Green Archers goalkeeper Henri Fong in the 55th minute.
Kaya FC will be facing local rival Loyola Meralco Sparks FC on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Japanese-reinforced club JP Voltes FC will be meeting struggling Laos FC in the first game of the UFL double-header at 5 p.m.
