KC Concepcion is back on prime time

Contrary to malicious rumors that KC Concepcion fled to the United States in January of this year to hide an unplanned pregnancy, the 29-year-old showbiz scion took a temporary leave from TV and the movies to get better at it.

The beautiful and talented daughter of Megastar Sharon Cuneta and dramatic actor Gabby Concepcion finally cleared the lingering issue in the flesh at a press conference this week for the “new additions” to the star-studded cast of ongoing ABS-CBN prime time series Ikaw Lamang.

With co-stars Coco Martin and Christopher de Leon on either side of her, KC good-naturedly declared, “Wala pong katotohanan yung isyung yon. Since I was 18 years old, whenever I leave for a trip aboard, ang balita ay either buntis ako or nag-pa-abort. The truth is I don’t like having to clear rumors that are just rumors, but I guess that’s just the way it is,” she added with a hint of frustration.

She went on to say that her most recent and lengthy stay in the US took three years to plan for the purpose of refreshing her acting skills, which were in fact reinforced when enrolled under the noted Hollywood Chubbuck Acting Technique.

“Ang tagal ko na ulit gusto mag-aral para makapag-refresh ng skills,” said the Theater Arts graduate from the American University of Paris. “I was supposed to go leave again [to resume my studies]but I decided to stay because of the offer to be part of Ikaw Lamang.”

Describing her inclusion in the highly successful multi-generational prime time drama in her home studio as “an honor,” KC now forms a new love triangle with Coco Martin and Kim Chiu. The 2014 Famas Best Actress (Boy Golden: Shoot to Kill, the Arturo Porcuna Story) is already seen in the small screen playing the role of Andrea’s elder sister, Natalia.

Aside from KC, the powerhouse cast of Ikaw Lamang also features a new batch of seasoned actors in Amy Austria as Isabelle, Joel Torre as Samuel, Rio Locsin as Lupe, Nonie Buencamino as Calixto, and Christopher de Leon as Franco.

“Much as I would have wanted to continue studying, I know that experience is still the best teacher, which is why I’m grateful to ABS-CBN for making me part of this grand project,” she excitedly averred.

Since premiering in March, Ikaw Lamang has topped national ratings because of the gripping love story of Samuel and Isabelle. Under the direction of Malu Sevilla, Manny Palo, and Avel Sunpongco, ABS-CBN describes the show as “master teleserye” under the production of Dreamscape Entertainment Television.

Ikaw Lamang airs weeknights on ABS-CBN.

  1. KC Concepcion is great face actress and bodilicious who makes me shout ….I’m coming heaven! She so inspirational and fantasizing object!

  2. She is not missed anyway. She is not a good actress. Her screen talent is not convincing. I prefer Carla Abellana, although new but she registers well in the movies.
