KFR gang leader killed during P50K ransom trade in Valenzuela

A leader of kidnap-for-ransom (KFR) group was killed after he engaged the operatives of Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) and Valenzuela City Police during a pay-off of P50,000 ransom on Monday night. Police said Darius Darlucio died from multiple gunshot wounds while his unidentified cohort escaped. Senior Police Officer 4 Ronald Bautista and Police Officer 3 Josephus Melpaz said Darlucio and his cohort were onboard a black motorcycle and about to collect the ransom money from Danny Chua, father of kidnap victim Dane Chua, when the shoot out happened. The suspects reportedly abducted Dane from their house on December 2 along Congressional Avenue in Quezon City. Elements of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered an unknown type of revolver from the slain suspect, the cash money and a cellular phone while a follow-up operation was ongoing. The kidnap victim was not released.
