THE distributor of Kia in the Philippines, Columbian Autocar Corp. (CAC), announced that Kia Motors has landed in an annual survey of a leading brand management consultancy firm.
CAC said Kia has been included in Interbrand’s Best Global Green Brands (BGGB) survey that reports the gap between brands’ environmental performance and consumers’ perceptions of that performance.
CAC noted Kia is a consistent placer in BGGB and that, this year, the Korean carmaker placed 35th out of 50 brands. This is an improvement of two spots compared to the company’s ranking last year.
The recognition continues to reflect Kia’s efforts in developing green technologies and vehicles that minimize environmental impact, CAC said.
Byung Yun-Park, vice president for marketing at Kia, cited the Soul EV, Optima Hybrid and Cadenza Hybrid “show Kia’s growing research and development competencies” in green technology.
“Kia puts continuous efforts on managing eco-friendly car life cycles, from design and production to distribution and disposal. We will continue to surprise our customers with eco-friendly vehicles and various social activities for global environmental conservation and sustainable growth,” Yun-Park said.
