KIA Carnival sustained its giant-killing charge by beating another heavily favored team, Talk ‘N Text, 106-103, on Wednesday in the Philippine Basketball Association Season 40 Commissioners Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.
After winning over Philippine Cup champion San Miguel Beer and Purefoods, KIA headed by playing head coach Manny Pacquiao delivered a solid fourth quarter performance to notch their third win after seven games.
“The players played very well and the effort was there. I’m so happy that we have a chance to reach the playoff,” said Pacquiao during the post game interview.
The 7’4 import Peter John Ramos scored 24 points plus 25 rebounds and nine assists, Hyram Bagatsing 21 points and Leo Avenido 16 points for Carnival.
Kyle Pascual, Reil Cervantes and Virgil Buensuceso also contributed 10 points each for KIA.
Jayson Castro and import Ivan Johnson finished with 24 points and 21 points, respectively, for Talk ‘N Text.
