Filipino cue master Warren Kiamco dominated the 7th Annual Oklahoma State Bar Table 9-Ball Championships held in Midwest City, Oklahoma, USA.
Kiamco, a silver medalist in the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, outplayed American Charlie Bryant in their two-game championship showdown. Kiamco won in Game 1, 9-7, and in Game 2, 9-7, to claim his third title this year.
Kiamco made it to the finals by overwhelming American Chip Compton, 9-4, in the semifinals while Bryant secured the second finals berth as he subdued Canadian David Parker, 9-4, in the other semifinal match.
The Filipino pocketed the $2,300 top purse while Bryant settled for the $1,900 runner-up prize in the nine-ball event sanctioned by the Billiard Congress of America.
Kiamco ruled the 40th Texas Open in Round Rock, Texas in September and the Midwest 9-Ball Tour 2013 9-Ball Stop 1 in Olathe, Kansas in February. He also got a couple of runner-up trophies in the Four Bears 2013 Mini 9-Ball and New Jersey State 10-Ball Championship, and three third-place finishes in the Super Billiards Expo 2013 Players Championship, Predator Pro-Am Tour 2013 Stop 1 Open/Pro Division and Predator Pro-Am Tour 2013 Stop 6 Open/Pro Division.
So far, Kiamco has $32,897 earnings, quite higher than his $21,275 overall total prize in 2012.
