    2

THE Kidapawan City Police on Saturday confiscated more than 100 motorcycles believed to be involved in crimes committed with motorcycles and the ones that add up to the noise pollution of the city.  Supt. Leo Ajero, Kidapawan City police chief, said the city police will continue its implementaion of “Oplan Lambat Bitag Sasakyan” on orders of Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph Evangelista. Many of the seized motorcycles have revised muffler using “bora-bora” pipes which produce sounds very irritating to ears of commuters. Aside from motorcycles with improvised mufflers, the Kidapawan City traffic unit, headed by Rey Manar, also seized motorcycles without legitimate registration papers which he said were used by lawless elements in carrying out their ill motives. Ajero said the confiscated motorcycles with improvised mufflers will be destroyed as many of them were carnapped or “assembled” and not registered with the Land Transportation Office. Ajero said the seized motorcycles will be destroyed using road roller this week after its owners failed to provide legal documents to prove ownership.
