The North Cotabato Electric Cooperative (Cotelco) has warned the city government of Kidapawan to pay its electric bills or they will face disconnection. In a letter early this week to Mayor Joseph Evangelista, Cotelco General Manager Engineer Godofredo Homez, said the local government has a current unsettled amount of P8,043,605. In his letter Homez said that if the City Government fails to settle their bill then they will enforce disconnection on September 16. Homez explained that the electricity distributed to Kidapawan City by Cotelco was purchased from suppliers which they “are promptly paying every month.” Evangelista inherited the unpaid bills from his predecessor, former Mayor Rodolfo Gantuangco who is now the city’s vice mayor. Evangelista said efforts are underway to settle the obligation.
