A JAPANESE who was kidnapped by armed men over the weekend was freed on Tuesday. Reports at the Philippine National Police operations center in Camp Crame said that Hayato Sumi, 42, was released at 1:30 a.m. by his captors in an undisclosed area in General Mariano Alvarez (GMA), Cavite. Sumi was snatched on Saturday at his bicycle shop in Barangay Don Bosco, Parañaque City. He was blindfolded by the suspects who dragged him inside a waiting car. The suspects reportedly demanded a P5-million ransom n the release of Sumi, who is married to a Filipina.
