Kidnapped trader rescued; 4 nabbed

JOINT police operatives have rescued a businesswoman following the arrest of three kidnapping suspects during police operation on Wednesday in a remote village in Bulacan province.

Senior Supt. Roberto Fajardo, director of PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG), identified the arrested suspects as Renan Manabat, Hallen Villanada, Luisito Garampil and Emiliano Contreras.

The kidnapped victim, identified only as a “Rachelle” by the police, was abducted while about to board her car parked in front of Britanica Health Clinic in Brgy. Cuayan in Angeles City, Pampanga on December 1.

Her abductors demanded P8 million in exchanges for her safe release, prompting the victim’s family to seek the assistance of AKG.

Subsequent police operation on December 2 resulted in the arrest of Garampil and subsequent rescue of the kidnap victim at R’s Travellers Inn at Brgy. San Rafael.

Garampil yielded a .9mm caliber gun when arrested.

Fajardo said a series of stake out led to the arrest of other suspects in different towns in Bulacan.

A case of kidnapping for ransom against the arrested suspects has been referred to the Department of Justice.

Meanwhile, Fajardo appealed to the public for cooperation in their drive to deter kidnapping incidents by reporting to the AKG hotline numbers 09189002020; 09273234894 and 027270000.
