Kiefer Ravena leads UAAP MVP race


ATENEO De Manila University’s Kiefer Ravena is leading the Most Valuable Player (MVP) race after the first round of elimination of University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 77 men’s basketball.

The 6-foot-2 son of former Philippine Basketball Association player Bong Ravena earned 80 statistical points (SPs).

Ravena was also the reason why the Blue Eagles are soaring at 6-1 win-loss slate going into the second round.

He scored a career-high 38 points against University of the East on Sunday to top his previous high of 29 points, which he posted against La Salle on July 20.

Besides the scoring and hustles, Ravena’s decision-makings and timely baskets that also keyed to Ateneo’s big wins in the previous games.

Jeron Teng of De La Salle University is at far second with 61.7143 SPs followed by Chris Newsome of Ateneo (60.4286 SPs) and Far Eastern University’s (FEU) Mark Belo (57.7143 SPs).

Cameroonian Karim Abdul of University of Santo Tomas is in fifth place with 56.1667 SPs followed by National University’s (NU) Alfred Aroga (55.4286), Mike Tolomia of FEU (55.1426), Arvin Tolentino of Ateneo (53.4286), Troy Rosario of NU (53.2857) and Jason Perkins of La Salle (50).
