Ravena’s point surge propelled the Blue Eagles out of the Green Archers’ reach and capped Ateneo’s 97-86 domination of its archrival.

Ravena also turned in a 29-point game-high performance as the Blue Eagles notched their second straight win.

Sharing the early lead with Ateneo are University of the East and National University.

“Kiefer (Ravena) has the skills and he’ll do whatever it takes to win a game,” said Ateneo head coach Bo Perasol.

Shooting guard Von Pessumal added 21 points and seven rebounds to Ateneo’s cause, and Arvin Tolentino and Nicolas Elorde combined for 23 points.

Alfonso Gotladera was also a spark for the Blue Eagles, canning seven of his 17 points in the fourth period, including a short jumper that gave Ateneo an 81-71 advantage.

Ravena’s fifth triple of the game stretched the lead to its widest at 85-71 with only 2:04 left.

“We talked about it in the dugout and the only chance we had of beating La Salle was to play it by possession,” added Perasol.

Ateneo scored 10-of-27 beyond the three-point arc as against La Salle’s 6-of-28.

Jason Perkins led La Salle with 25 points and 10 rebounds with four assists.

The Green Archers dropped to 0-2 card.
