Police arrested a 15-year-old boy who was carrying a six-inch knife while waiting for the motorcade of Pope Francis on Quirino Avenue on January 15, the day the pontiff arrived in Manila.
The boy, an out-of-school youth, lives in Pasay City (Metro Manila). His name was not released because he was a minor.
Policemen securing the area said the boy was acting suspiciously, prompting them to approach and frisk him.
He was immediately brought to the nearby Malate Police Station 9 for investigation. The boy was turned over to Manila’s social welfare agency.
