A powerful typhoon failed to scare off LA Lakers superstar and NBA champion Kobe Bryant, who arrived on Monday morning on board a chartered flight for a one-day Lenovo Mobile promotional tour.

Kobe’s World Wide 131 Gulf Stream jet arrived at around 3 a.m. from Guangzhou, China.

The LA Lakers cager was met by Joh Rojo, the business unit head of Open Communications, the exclusive distributor of Lenovo Mobile, and organizer of the “Walang Iwanan World Tour.”
It was Bryant’s sixth visit to the Philippines.

“I always have a good time here,” he told reporters.

Bryant unveiled Lenovo’s ultra-sleek K900 handheld device in a launch held at Passion Restaurant at Maxim’s Hotel in Resorts World Manila.

Tickets for Bryant’s tour were given away for free to Lenovo smartphone users through an online promo.

Bryant, 34, last visited the country in 2011 for a Nike event and exhibition games with fellow NBA players.
