Kohler celebrates two milestones in PH

Kohler, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of luxurious and innovative bathroom and kitchen products, celebrated its 140th anniversary in May, alongside Kohler Philippines’ 25th year here in the country.

Larry Yuen, Kohler Asia’s president of Kitchen and Bath Asia division, personally visited the Philippines to mark these two special milestones with the introduction of the company’s new products, which were designed to uphold the brand’s rich heritage. Yuen also happily announced the opening of its Philippine office.

“Kohler is an American company which takes pride in its European heritage. Our 140 years had been filled with the creation of bold and innovative new designs,” Yuen remarked at a press gathering at the grand ballroom of Solaire Resort and Casino in Pasay City.

Kohler was founded by John Michael Kohler, an Austrian who migrated to the United States. In 1837, he bought a small cast-iron and steel company, which came to be known as Kohler Co. Four generations later, Kohler remains a 100-percent family-owned company.

Eye on Manila
Today, Kohler is global leader in the manufacture of 26,000 bath and kitchen brand products with 13,000 patents. Yuen elaborated, “Kohler is a very diverse company with kitchen, bath products, engines and power generation systems, cabinetry, tile and home interiors, as well as hospitality and world-class golf destinations under our name.”

In acknowledging the company’s continuous growth in the Philippines, Yuen continued, “We are happy to set up an office in the Philippines, because we also want to be the best here.”

The office is located at the heart of Ortigas’ commercial district, and will serve as Kohler Philippines’ official base of operations. Presently, the office has no more than 10 very able staffers, but Yuen assured that soon enough, Kohler will add more personnel to run its operations.

New products
In addition to the launch of its new headquarters, Kohler Philippines also introduced new collections crafted to make kitchens or bathrooms personalized spaces.

The new product lines include toilets equipped with the powerful Class Five flushing technology—a technology that’s able to maximize the natural force of water to deliver extraordinary bulk flushing power and an incredibly clean performance while saving on water.

This technology saves up to 30 percent of water compared to industry standards; thereby making Kohler toilets outfitted with it the most eco-efficient in the market today.

There’s also the Numi Plus, a revolutionary toilet that has all the advanced features of its predecessor Numi to maintain a sophisticated lifestyle such as the bidet functionality, heated seat and feet, built-in speakers, touch screen remote, and a motion-activated lid and seat but upgraded with the capacity for wireless music input, smartphone control, ambient light and an emergency flush even if you run out of power in your home.

Kohler PVD-finished faucet, on the other hand, is the result of a state-of-the-art Physical Vapor Deposition process that is featured in a large selection of faucet finishes that not only comes in warm brushed tones and brilliant polished hues, but also has an incredibly strong surface that is both scratch- and tarnish-resistant.

Another new product is the Moxie showerhead + wireless speaker, a shower device that delivers up to seven hours of music, news and more by having it paired wirelessly with your Bluetooth technology-enabled device, letting you belt out in the shower while lathering up or long after you’ve dried off.

Lastly, Strayt Decorative faucets offer a complete range of kitchen and lavatory faucets, showering trims, bath fillers and bath spouts all synced in style and design to give an elegant and harmonized look to the interior space. These faucets reflect the meaning of new architectural modernity that fuses the old and new, the east and the west.
