Korea food firm eyes more domestic trade

A Korean government-run corporation that promotes Korean produce, seafoods and food items abroad, sees an increase in business opportunities in the Philippines as it holds its first-ever franchise showcasing Korean food products in the county.

“aT [Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corp.,] will be bringing over some of the most popular food and beverage brands from Korea. These are all fast-growing popular brands, and hopefully they will be able to meet the right partners at this event to bring their exciting brands to the Philippines in the near future,” Joshua Kim, marketing manager of aT, said.

He expressed excitement in holding the event in the Philippines and sees the trade show as a gateway for more potential business opportunities in the Philippines.

“Since this is the first time we will be holding a Korean Franchise business matching outside of Korea, this show will definitely set the standard for future shows,” he said.

“We are all very proud of the brands that had decided to participate in this show, and I am extremely confident that all the menus they will be presenting will be hugely successful in the Philippines. Sweet tangy barbecues, chicken, pizzas, hot dogs are just some of the items that will be shown at this event,” he added.

aT considers the Philippines as a very important market for Korean products.

“We are really hoping to get more Korean produces to the Philippines. People who have tried them know how good they are. Especially Korean fruits and rice,” Kim added.

“We look forward to the Franchise Asia Philippines 2014 [FAPhil 2014],” he said.

The Korean Franchise event, titled “Buy Korean Franchise, Autumn Exhibition @ Makati,” will be held on October 24 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel. It is an only by invitation event.
