A KOREAN died after falling off a condominium building in Mandaluyong City on Thursday morning.
Jaek Young-han, 35, fell from the 24th floor of his unit in Globe Asiatique (GA) Towers located near EDSA, according to his girlfriend, Lee Jung-ah.
Lee said she discovered that her boyfriend fell after the lights inside their unit briefly went out. She said Jaek was drunk before the accident occurred.
Power supply in the building went out after Jaek tripped on power lines before landing on the south-bound lane of EDSA. The accident snarled traffic in the area.
Lee said she recently had a fight with her boyfriend, but they patched things up last night.
She added that Jaek, a musician, had been jobless for three years.
It was learned that the victim has been jobless for almost 3 three years.
Probers are looking if there was foul play in the Korean’s death.
Jaek was the third victim who committed suicide in the controversial GA tower.
On January 30, 2012, a 29-year-old call center agent jumped from the 28th floor of the building. In January 21, 2013, an 18-year old male student of the Philippine Maritime Institute also jumped from the 9th floor of the building because of depression.
GA tower is owned by Delfin Lee who was charged of syndicated estafa that stemmed from the allegedly anomalous loans extended by Pag-ibig funds to ghost borrowers from Mabalacat, Pampanga.
Last year, Lee was cleared by the Court of Appeals. NEIL A. ALCOBER
