Korean Kim beats rival in Balikatan 11 Teen Titans

Teen mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Jeong Woo Kim proved his mastery of the mats as he booked yet another submission win in Balikatan 11 on Saturday at the Hyrbid Yaw-Yan Mixed-Martial Arts Training Center in Cubao Quezon City

The 17-year old South Korean fighter capitalized on his impressive first round to seize an opportunity and lock Ivan Camacho in a rear naked choke position, forcing the latter to bow out of the contest in the 2:06 mark of round two.

Meanwhile, Iranian wrestler Ehsan Mousaei suffered the same faith as the young Camacho as he also fell via a submission against his Australian foe Jordan Coetsee in the only bout between foreigners in the amateur fight card.

Mousaei used his wrestling prowess to inflict damage early in their competition to Coetsee but the Perth, Australia native turned the tides with just 54 seconds left in the opening round to mount a rear naked choke to take the win and the submission of the night award.

In the only Pro-MMA rules match in the amateur combat promotion; Hybrid Yaw-Yan’s John Joseph Tabang emerged victorious against Samson College’s Famelo Tabanao via a technical knockout.

Tabang gave his rival a beating immediately in the first round forcing the ring official to stop the bout in the 1:52 mark because of continuous pounding of the Yaw-Yan prizefighter to the hapless Tabanao.

Herdoza Fitness Gym’s Michael Dulnuan lost via a majority decision after three round in their teen MMA fight against Hybrid Yaw-Yan’s Willie Benedicto while his teammate, Giovanni Brasileno Jr, won over Beverson Alday via technical knockout in the third round.

Christian Buentiempo of Hybrid Yaw-Yan also clinched a third round referee stoppage win over Brian Talaro of Happy Feet MMA.

On the other hand, UMMA’s Raymundo Ortega handed Master Henry Kobayashi’s first time MMA fighter Reggie Escosora a loss via a arm bar submission with just 40 seconds left in the opening round.

John Celeridad, another Yaw-Yan fighter, exhibited his submission skills as he notched a win over Samson College’s Cedric Valle through a rear naked choke in the first round.

TYT MMA Guild of Muntinlupa’s Fidel Bundoc fell to the hands of Hybrid Yaw-Yan’s Bruce Gonzales via a referee stoppage while Ryan Canata of MAC Yaw-Yan defeated John Kharlo Restoles in a second round TKO. Gonzales also took the knockout of the night trophy.

Goat Locker Gym’s Jaypee Espinosa triumphed over Richard Francis Ayala in the only kickboxing match in Balikatan 11 after the referee stopped the bout at the 2:44 mark of the second round of the fight of the night.

Jaypee Rubio was disqualified after an illegal blow in the second round of his amateur MMA fight against Santino Dumlao, prompting the officials to award the win to the latter while Marc Dela Cruz wins via default after Demson Durano was disallowed from fighting by medical officials because of his high blood pressure.
