• Kris Aquino support for Binays limited to Makati

PRESIDENTIAL sister and celebrity host Kris Aquino on Wednesday made it clear that her support to the family of Vice President Jejomar Binay is limited to Makati City and not on the national level.

In a press conference held after a motorcade with administration candidates Senator Francis Escudero and Grace Poe-Llamanzeres, Aquino made it clear that she will only be supporting the candidacy of Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay, who is seeking re-election.

She said she does not support Nancy Binay, who is running for senator under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA).

“Jun Jun Binay is my very good friend. I campaigned for him as mayor because nobody from Team PNoy ran for mayor in Makati,” she explained.

But Kris, the youngest sister of President Benigno Aquino 3rd, refused to categorically answer if she also supports Nancy, the mayor’s sister.

”Out of respect for my brother I won’t answer that and in the interest of telling the truth, I also won’t answer that,” she said.

Aquino’s decision to personally campaign for Escudero and Poe in General Santos city was part of an earlier promise she made to the re-electionist senator.

The latest Pulse Asia survey showed Escudero and Poe at number 2 and 3, respectively, and Aquino’s endorsement was expected to boost both candidates’ standing in the actual polls.

The popular TV and movie actress also declined to comment when asked if she sees a 12-0 victory for Team PNoy candidates.

As to the reports about her supposed plan to run for vice president in in 2016, Aquino said she intends to help bring in more tourists to General Santos first before thinking about her plans to enter politics

”I have to bring in more tourists first here so that I will have achievement if I decide to run,” she said.
