Queen of all Media is not over ‘Bistek’
Netizens were surprised this week to read a curious post from the ever outspoken Queen of All Media Kris Aquino: “Silence is better than bullshit.”
The quote appeared on her Instagram account (@kris_aquino) on June 7 and was even cited as her reaction to Sen. Bong Revilla’s highly bashed privilege speech on the pork barrel/Janet Napoles scam.
However, when dates were checked as to when she posted the quote on the social networking site, many realized they had made a mistake since Revilla’s speech came days after Kris’ post.
What became apparent was that Kris’ post had something to do with a June 6 interview, which her short-lived boyfriend Quezon City Mayor Herbert “Bistek” Bautista, gave to ABS-CBN’s late night news program, Bandila.
It will be remembered that just as soon as Kris confirmed she and the actor turned politician were an item in April, the relationship ended with statements of finality from both sides.
Nevertheless, news anchor Karen Davila ventured to ask Bautista on the program’s “Yes or No” segment, “Mahal mo ba si Kris Aquino?”
Bautista tried his best to laugh off the question but when pressed by Davila and co-anchors Julius Babao and Ces Drilon for an answer, he replied, “Oo.”
But when asked if he would date the President’s sister again, the mayor quickly replied with a “no.”
Clearly offended by the politician’s lighthearted take to their relationship during the interview, Kris followed on with another Instagram post, which said, “And that says it all . . .”
It was only on Monday when Kris again used, “Silence is better than B.S.” on her late night show with Boy Abunda, A&A. This time, it was specifically meant for Sen. Revilla’s speech.
But as it turned out, matters of the heart still trumped pressing national issues on the President’s sister’s mind as she ended Tuesday afternoon with the following post on Instagram: “Just not okay today… Had to pack up my taping & won’t be in A&A tonight. I’m sorry for needing this time for myself . . .
“Back to work tomorrow & on IG once I’m sure that my broken heart is healed. Nahihiya lang akong mag pretend pa to be okay when I still have a long way to go . . . I owe you & I owe myself this HONESTY.”
