PLUS: The 4-hour wait for Cristine Reyes; Melissa Ricks and BF call it quits; and Sylvia Sanchez’ ‘greatest’ break
A few days ago, Queen of All Media Kris Aquino was spotted inside the ABS-CBN compound, and reportedly met with the network’s executives without a clear agenda.
This comes on the heels of persistent rumors alleging that Kris will soon be jumping ship to GMA Network, after she guested in Marian Rivera’s daily talk show, Yan Ang Morning. The buzz grew even louder even as Kris clarified she only appeared in the competing network as a gesture of gratitude to her inaanaks Marian and Dingdong, for whom she stood as principal sponsor during their wedding in 2014, and who had campaigned for her brother in 2010, and staunchly supported former President Noynoy Aquino throughout his tenure.
With her recent meeting in ABS-CBN though, fans of the Queen of All Media are optimistic that she will soon be making her television comeback.
Kris’ contract with ABS-CBN expired on March 23, but she did not renew it to the dismay of her avid supporters. She first revealed that her decision to take a break from showbiz were due to health reasons, but soon cited that an Abu Sayyaf plot to kidnap kept her from signing a renewal.
Soon after announcing her showbiz hiatus, Kris took a two-month vacation in the United States with her sons Joshua and Bimby. She returned to the country days before the proclamation of Vice President Leni Robredo, whom she openly supported and campaigned for in the May elections.
Ripple’s highly placed source says with certainty though, “She is still a Kapamilya!”
For now, let’s just keep an eye on Kris’ social media accounts, where she usually announces her career plans and shares personal news with her fans.
Cristine Reyes was scheduled to tape an episode for the ABS-CBN morning talk show Magandang Buhay, but the actress was a no-show.
Hosts Karla Estrada, Melai Cantiveros, and Jolina Magdangal, as well as the production staff, supposedly waited for Cristine for four hours, but decided to call off the taping as they should. The girls had been patient more than enough.
According to the camp of Cristine, “na-overlook niya ang travel time and the [terrible]traffic.”
No word yet it if Magandang Buhay would still be interested in having the controversial Tubig at Langis star as a guest in future episodes
By the way, Magandang Buhay, which has been on air for almost three months now, has been getting good reviews for changing the landscape of morning talk shows.
Have Melissa Ricks and her partner Charles Togezaki called it quits?
Someone close to Melissa confirmed that the actress and her partner have already broken up. If her Instagram account is to be believed, this report is true, since no evidence of their relationship exists in her posts, and photos of Charles have already been deleted. We have yet to confirm the news from Melissa herself, who is currently in her hometown of Kansas in the United States. She went there with her daughter Kiera Kelly, now a year old.
Melissa has never been shy about her relationship with Charles, letting her fans in on their dates through her posts.
Not long after they started dating two years ago, Melissa announced that she was pregnant with Charles’ baby. Twenty-four at the time, Melissa was left with no choice but to temporarily quit showbiz and prepare for motherhood.
Melissa decided to leave the country with her daughter in order to spend quality time with her family in the US. But she is now busy working out to lose weight and is bent on staging a showbiz comeback soon.
Actress Sylvia Sanchez could not hold back her tears on Thursday night’s press conference for ABS-CBN’s newest family drama The Greatest Love. After all, who would not be overwhelmed that after playing supporting roles throughout her 27-year career, she is finally topping the bill of a teleserye.
The series’ teaser trailer posted online has already earned overwhelmingly positive feedback.
And clearly, it’s just another TV project for her. In Greatest Love, she plays Gloria, a selfless mother of four who is slowly losing pieces of her memories to dementia. And before she loses her entire memory, she races against time to try to bring her children (Dimples Romana, Matt Evans, Arron Villaflor, Andi Eigenmann) back together.
Sylvia is definitely blessed, to say the least. She has been prominently visible on TV since the phenomenal series Be Careful With My Heart, and owes it to her professionalism and love for her craft.
But The Greatest Love is so far the most special for her, of course. “Thankful ako sa project na ‘to. Ito ang pinakamagandang nangyari sa career ko.”
