• Krzyzewski to coach US Olympians through 2016

DURHAM, North Carolina: Mike Krzyzewski, who guided the Americans to two Olympic titles, will coach the US national team of NBA stars through the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, USA Basketball announced on Thursday. The 66-year-old college coaching legend, who has masterminded four national championship squads at Duke University, is 62-1 in seven years guiding the US national team, including a 50-game win streak. But “Coach K” had said he was not planning to sign up for another four-year stint with the US team, which will include a July training camp in Las Vegas and next year’s FIBA World Cup in Spain as well as the next Olympics.
