With Halloween out of the way, Christmas officially began at Kultura as members of the diplomatic corps, government officials, and lovers of all things Filipino recently got together to launch its holiday collection at its newly renovated store at SM Makati.
At the event, Kultura showcased its Crafts for a Cause Foundations in time for the spirit of giving, as well as presented its gifts and Christmas décor in natural and artisanal materials.
Guests included Gretchen del Rosario, wife of Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario, Monaco Consul Fortune Ledesma, Marga Perez from the Embassy of Spain, Instituto Cervantes Director Carlos Madrid accompanied by Spanish Film Maker David Trueba, and former Ambassador Jose Zaide.
Ilocos Sur Vice Gov. D.V. Savellano also dropped by to check the famous Abel cloth collection from his province.
The event officially kicked off the Christmas season with new and creatively packaged gift ideas inspired by nature- home accents, dining linen, jewelry and accessories, fun novelties, local delicacies, and more.
To complement the spirit, the store was also decked in a Christmas theme using natural materials crafted into uniquely Filipino décor—Nativity sets, tree ornaments, and Christmas lanterns.
Meanwhile, Officers of Crafts for a Cause member organizations, including Dee Zobel of E. Zobel Foundation, Vicky Wieneke of Kabisig ng Kalahi, Sylvia Pascual of Ginto Foundation, Sheryl Cruz of Paper for Now Foundation, were happy to showcase their new collections for the holidays.
Kultura’s Crafts for a Cause collection includes products from livelihood projects of various foundations that have adopted marginalized communities as their beneficiaries. These are products that put the heart into retailing, some of which creatively celebrate the joys of recycling—Christmas inspired candles, Christmas tree ornaments from old magazines fashion accessories and useful bags from plastic straw. These gifts are not only unique but also give back to communities.
The cause’s participants are Berdesaco, Circle of Friends Foundation, E. Zobel Foundation, Gawad Kalinga Foundation, Gifts & Graces Fair Trade Foundation, Ginto Foundation, Habi Bag ng Kabuhayan, Holy Family Home Foundation, Hope Ministries, Invisible Sisters, Isla Para sa Kaunlaran ng Maricaban Pasay City, Kabalikat sa Pag-unlad Multi-purpose Cooperative, Kabalikat sa Kaunlaran ng Baseco, Kabisig ng Kalahi, Kaibigan Ermita Outreach Foundation, Kamay Krafts Foundation, Life Project 4 Youth, NNJ Crafts, Paper for Now, Sr. Teresa of Santo Nino Center, Sto.
