Kusama lecture at the Ayala Museum

The Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM) in cooperation with the Ayala Museum is pleased to announce the Kusama Lecture by Akira Tatehata on August 10, 4 p.m. at the Ground Floor Lobby of the Ayala Museum.

Akira Tatehata (1947, Kyoto) is a well known art critic and curator in Japan on the works of Yayoi Kusama. He is the president of the Kyoto City University of Arts and the Director of the Museum of Modern Art in Saitama. He specializes in modern and contemporary art and has curated many exhibitions on modern and contemporary art in Asia. He has also served as Commissioner of the Japan Pavilion in the Venice Biennale in 1990 and 1993 and was the Artistic Director of the Yokohama Triennale in 2001 and Aichi Triennale in 2010.

The lecture is part of the I Love Kusama exhibition, which is on view at the Ground Floor Gallery and Third Floor Glass Lane of the Ayala Museum until September 1. The exhibition is part of the celebration of the 40th Year of Asean-Japan Friendship and Cooperation.
