Marc Andrew Carganilla and Rod Ethan Alian combined for 26 points to power La Salle Greenhills-A past Ateneo de Manila, 56-44, to claim the Small Basketeers Philippines (SBP) crown of the Best Center’s twin tournaments for the youth last Sunday at the Jacinto Tiu competition court at the Xavier School.
Carganilla exploded with 14 points while Alian ably supported him with 12 as the Greenies went home with the coveted SBP trophy of this tournament organized by the pioneering Basketball Efficiency and Scientific Training Center sponsored by Milo and backed by Chris Sports and Rain or Shine.
San Beda College-Rizal brought home the third place trophy.
Meanwhile, it took three boys to power Adamson University in denying La Salle Greenhills a double celebration as the Baby Falcons won the Passerelle crown via a 64-57 thumping of the Greenies.
Nicole Gil Quinal scored 16 points while Ahmad Hanapi and Jeffy mailim had 12 each for Adamson to counter the combined 20 point production of LSGH scoring leaders Vhenjamin Joseph Maximo and Reynaldo Mutiangpili Jr, to seal their claim to the crown.
Ateneo de Manila settled for third place.
