La Union mayor on drug list cleared

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union: The Philippine National Police (PNP)-Region 1 investigating task force has cleared Mayor Reynaldo Flores of Naguilian town here, listed as “high value target” (HWT) in the illegal drug trade as announced by President Rodrigo Duterte in his second list of narco-politicians. Senior Inspector Vanessa Gabot, chief of Police Regional Office 1 public information office, confirmed Flores cannot be labeled as HVT because it was found out during the investigation that he has no pending case or warrant of arrest, particularly related to illegal drugs. The mayor was again named by the President in his second narco-list as HVT, meaning, he is a priority in the operation against persons suspected of involvement in illegal drug activities. Duterte has named Flores, along with Tubao town Mayor Dante Garcia, former 2nd District Rep. Eufranio Eriguel and Bauang town Mayor Martin de Guzman. All of them denied the allegations.
