La Union set to celebrate 165th Anniversary


SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union: The La Union Provincial Government is set to celebrate its 165th Foundation Day with the theme “La Union @ 165 and Beyond: Fulfilling our Vision and Mission. Securing the Future for Sustained Peace, Unity and Prosperity through the Power of Love and Prayers.” Governor Manuel Ortega said the events are set from February 18 to March 19 and will showcase the province’s successes and accomplishments in tourism and peace efforts. The celebration will kick off with Ortega delivering a State of the Province Address (SOPA) from the Capitol on February 18. A beauty pageant is slated on March 2 with the representatives from 19 towns and one city vying to be this year’s Mutia ti La Union. The activities will also include the electric float parade, drum and lyre competition, job fair, festival of lights, bamboo arts and crafts competition and an agri-trade fair.
