TAGBILARAN CITY: Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz Thursday five checks worth P732,152.40 to five workers’ organizations for their livelihood businesses to help them rebuild their lives after the Bohol earthquake last year.
Baldoz was joined by Bohol Gov. Chatto and DOLE Regional Office No. 7 Regional Director Chona Mantilla in the turnover ceremony here.
“The DOLE’s commitment to support you and the province of Bohol in its rebuilding effort continues,” said Baldoz.
The financial grants–released under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program, or DILP–represented the latest DOLE assistance to worker-survivors of the earthquake.
A total of 286 workers will benefit from the livelihood grants.
First of the recipients was the Gotozon Balsa Performers’ Association of Loboc, Bohol, whose 92 members are engaged in tourist entertainment. It received P269,402 for the rehabilitation of its floating raft destroyed by the Bohol earthquake.
Also handed out P118,400 check was Anda Senior Citizens Association of Poblacion, Anda, Bohol, for its 76 members’ goat-raising business; and a check of P106,500 to the Lundag Farmers Association, also in Anda, Bohol, for its dairy goat-raising business.
The Anda OFW Returnees and Beneficiaries Association received P100,000 for its malunggay kropek business and the Baucan Norte Farmers Association, in Balilihan, Bohol, received P137,850 for its dairy goat-raising enterprise. PNA
