A former labor official urged the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to consider lifting the ban on the deployment of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to Libya to help ease unemployment.

“It has been more than a year since the last assessment and evaluation of the security situation in Libya. There have been a lot of developments and we are sure the road towards stability in Libya has tremendously improved,” Nikon Fameronang, former undersecretary for employment said in a statement on Friday.
