Malacañang officials have no idea if Palace spokesman Edwin Lacierda will be leaving his post after Presidential Secretary Hermnio Coloma Jr. started holding regular press briefings.
A revamp in President Benigno Aquino 3rd’s communication group was reported after the Palace spokesmen were lambasted for engaging in “word wars” with administration critics.
Ricardo “Dong” Puno Jr., in his column on Sunday, wrote that Lacierda is likely to be transferred to the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and Coloma “is now supposed to conduct the Malacañang news briefings.”
Coloma, however, said that he has no information if Lacierda will be transferred to the NEDA.
Since last week, Coloma has been conducting press briefings aside from Lacierda and Valte.
Under the new system, Coloma will hold media briefings every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, Lacierda will brief newsmen on Mondays and Wednesdays, while Valte’s schedule in on Fridays. She will also be interviewed over Radyo ng Bayan every Saturday.
