Former Sen. Panfilo Lacson made it to the final list of the Liberal Party’s Senate slate but skipped his proclamation on Monday.

Senate President Franklin Drilon, who was also in the list of the ruling party’s 12 senatorial candidates, said Lacson was a no show at the official proclamation of the ruling party because he had to attend an event at the Philippine National Police (PNP). Lacson is the chairman of the PNP Foundation.

The ruling party’s candidates for senator include Ralph Recto, TG Guingona, former Senator Francis Pangilinan, former Pampanga Gov. Mark Lapid, former Justice Secretary Leila de Lima, former Energy Chief Jericho Petilla, ex-Director General Joel Villanueva of the Techinical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Philhealth director Risa Hontiveros, Interior Assistant Secretary Ina Ambulogto and party-list Rep. Cresente Paez of Coop-Natcco. Llanesca T. Panti
