Filipino light flyweight Rogen Ladon lost to Russian Vasili Egorov in the semifinals of the World Boxing Championship Olympic Qualifiers at the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiya Stadium in Doha, Qatar on Sunday.
Ladon, 21, brought home a bronze medal though.
On Saturday, another top Philippine bet in the meet welterweight Eumir Felix Marcial also lost to world No. 1 Daniyar Yeleussinov of Kazakhstan in the quarterfinals.
Marcial and Ladon can still secure a Rio Games berth next year if they win in any of the remaining three meet namely the Asia-Oceania qualifiers (also for women) in March 2016 in China, the qualifier in Azerbaijan in June and the qualifier in Bulgaria in May.
