• Lady Archers remain unbeaten in PFF WL


    De La Salle University (DLSU) finished the first round of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Women’s League unbeaten after defeating Far Eastern University, 3-2, at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium on Sunday.

    After three straight victories, the Lady Archers stretched their winning run as they bested the defending champions in a close fight.

    The Lady Tamaraws started the game aggressive with Jovelle Sudaria quickly scoring a goal in the 12th minute.

    However, FEU accidentally conceded a goal in the 43rd minute that brought the score to 1-1 with a few minutes remaining in the first half.

    The ladies of Morayta swiftly redeemed themselves from their error as Harriette Lam’s strike went through in the 44th minute to give FEU a 2-1 lead.

    The Lady Archers caught fire late in the game as Kyra Dimaandal scored in the 86th minute to even the score, 2-2, with just a few ticks left in regulation.

    Tension rose in the dying minutes of stoppage period after a mishap in FEU’s defense resulted in a late-game penalty for La Salle.

    Sara Castaneda sank her shot to complete her club’s comeback and seal their fourth-straight victory in the competition.

    The Lady Archers tightened their grip of the top spot following the win against champion FEU. The Lady Tamaraws absorbed their first loss after a win and a draw.

    Meanwhile, Green Archers United FC beat Kaya FC 6-1

    Rising high school football star Alisha Del Campo posted two goals for the Green Archers United.

    Del Campo opened her performance with a goal in the 34th minute after her teammates Carmela Bautista and Annalie Martinez notched goals in the second and 16th minutes, respectively to give their club a 3-0 lead at midgame.

    Julia Panganiban and Anicka Castaneda also made their mark with goals of their own in the 47th and 61st minutes.

    On the other hand, Kaya FC posted a goal in the 68th minute through Mary Penol’s shot.

    Del Campo delivered the killing blow in the 78th minute to complete her brace and push her club back into the winners’ column.

    Meanwhile, Outkast FC routed Fuego España FC 6-0 in the third match of the triple-header Sunday.
