Adamson University posted an easy 25-17, 25-20, 25-9 win over University of the East (UE) to fortify its Final Four bid in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 76 women’s volleyball tournament on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan City.
Open hitter Sheila Marie Pineda scored 12 points on 10 hits and a pair of aces to tow the Lady Falcons to their fifth win in 10 games. Amanda Villanueva, who played utility spiker this time, chipped in 12 points while Mayette Zapanta and Mylene Paat combined for 13 points.
“We were reminded to keep our focus and composure inside the court. In this game, we were communicating well and the teamwork was there. We want to get our confidence back especially we’re approaching the crucial stage of the tournament,” said Pineda.
UE remained winless as it swallowed its 10th loss. Rookie Shaya Adorador had 11 points and team captain Sarina Bulan got eight for the already eliminated Lady Warriors.
In the men’s division, defending champion National University bucked a second-set lapse to beat Adamson, 25-21, 24-26, 25-15, 25-17.

In the other game, University of the Philippines trounced UE, 25-16, 25-16, 32-30, with Jeffrey Lansangan and Julius Raymundo banging in 15 points each.
