A MAN previously arrested by the police for hostage-taking in Laguna on June 9 has turned out to be a fugitive wanted for murder in Bulacan, police reports said Friday.
Reports at the Philippine National Police operations center in Camp Crame said that, elements of the San Miguel Municipal Police office has served a warrant of arrest for murder against Cipriano Fuentes Medrano Jr., who is detained at the Santa Maria Municipal Police Office in Laguna.
Medrano was arrested by elements of the Santa Maria police office on June 9 for taking hostage the mother and family of Henry Landicho, a village councilor of Santa Maria town, reports said.
The warrant served by the San Miguel Police office against Medrano was issued by Judge Grace Ruiz of Branch 22 of Regional Trial Court of Malolos City was for murder charges with no recommended bail.
Reports said that, Medrano was facing murder charges for the death of a certain Maribel Gonzales who was gunned down inside her house in Barangay San Juan in San Miguel, Bulacan sometime October 2012.
The reports added that, elements of the Santa Maria Police office has yet to turn over Medrano to the San Miguel Police office as it exerting all efforts to verify if the charges against him before the Malolos regional court still exist.
